The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1)The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Julie Kagawa is truly brilliant! Her ability to take a subject as well known and loved as the Fae and make it her own is astounding to me.
In this beginning to the Iron Fey series, Meghan Chase is just another girl with just another sad story in just another American high school, or is she? This is at it's heart a tale of love. Love in every variety, love of a brother, love of a best friend, love of a man, is what this first book is ultimately about. Meghan discovers that she may not be so ordinary and embarks on a perilous journey through the never-never to rescue her baby brother Ethan. Along the way she discovers that her best friend is not who she thought he was, she is the half breed daughter of Oberon, the Summer King, and she is the key to saving all of the never-never from a new threat, the iron fey!
Even if you are not a fan of fantasy stories like this, I highly recommend that everyone read this book and become entranced in a world of imagination that will fill your dreams with excitement!
I loved this book!
P.S. Did I mention there being a really awesome love interest? It doesn't dominate the story, but it is there, and it is wonderful!
