Shiver

Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1)Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Well, I really hate to give bad reviews. In fact, I more lean towards sugar coating my disappointments. This book for me didn't have it. I was so excited about this series that without reading the first book, I just bought the whole series. I mean it really got great reviews and was a best seller, so it had to be good right? After reading Shiver, I returned the other two books to the book store. I genuinely disliked this book. The reasons as to why are hard to explain, but I will try. The story seemed very disjointed between the two points of view. Also, the progression of Shiver was slow and lack luster. I felt as if I were dragging every scrap of information painstakingly from the pages. It seemed a slow torture trying to understand the shallow feelings of the two leads. I mean how intense can a love be when you don't really know the object of your affection? Apparently potent enough to jump straight into their bed with little hesitation. This book just missed the mark on so many levels. I genuinely hated it. I gave it two stars to be nice because the writing was technically well written, but I wouldn't give it any stars for content and storyline.
